SG Bakery North Lakes
Shop 1042 Westfield Helensvale | completed
Saigon warmth meets suburban energy
A second act in flavour and form
Following the success of SG Bakery Helensvale, this second store in North Lakes sets a bold tone for the brand’s future. As SG Bakery steps closer to its franchise ambitions, the new fit-out refines and reinforces the visual language of Vietnamese street food within a high-traffic retail context.
Designing the everyday ritual
Located inside Westfield North Lakes, the store captures attention with a glowing identity wall, rhythmic fluted timber, and a bold backlit logo floating above a sea of yellow pattern. A framed banh mi station anchors the frontage — part show, part ritual — showcasing fresh loaves, colourful sauces, and signature fillings that define SG Bakery’s brand experience.
The material palette is tactile and deliberate: dark-glazed finger tiles wrap the counter and kickers, contrasting with illuminated plinths and brass details to bring depth and elegance to an otherwise compact footprint. Overhead, globe lights soften the mood, while the warm yellow motif threads through every surface like a quiet nod to home.

A collaboration for growth
GVU Architects, in collaboration with interior designers Corner ID, delivered full architectural and documentation services across a fast-paced six-month timeline. From concept to council submission, tender, and builder liaison, the team worked closely with the client to ensure consistency with the original Helensvale vision — while elevating elements for clarity, buildability, and scale.
More than just a store, North Lakes becomes a template: flexible, familiar, and ready for the next SG Bakery.
